College Profile

‘Seek to Excel’ is the motto of M.E.S. Teachers College. The college was established in the year 1958. The first principal of he college was Prof. K.V. Doreswamy. Thereafter the institution was led by Prof. C. Rangachar, Prof.C.L. Gopinath Rao, Prof. M.R. Srinivasa Rao, Prof. Shanta A Diwakar, Prof. A.N. Vijaya Murthy, Prof. G.S. Suryanarayana, Dr. H.S. Ganesha Bhatta, Prof. B.R. Gopal and Smt. P. Mythili Raju were the principals of the college.

A good education is the basic foundation required to produce worthy and dynamic teachers who can contribute well to the progress of the nation and the world at large. Through its academic raining, the college aims at inculcating the high ideas like virtues of industry. Self-sacrifice, service, honesty, godliness and the high ideals handed over to us as the precious cultural heritage of this great land. Students are encouraged to achieve purity of thought, word and deed through self-discipline.

The campus is located at Rajajinagar, Bengaluru which is 5Km way from Vidhana Soudha and has a serene scenic landscape. M.E.S. Teachers College was assessed and accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council at ‘A’ level in the year 2005. Re-Accreditation by NAAC in 2015 with CGPA 3.19 Grade "A". The college celebrated its Golden Jubilee during the years 2009 and 2010

The National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) has accorded permanent recognition to the college from the year 1996 onwards in recognition to the quality and standard of facilities available in the institution.

The college has been upgraded as "College of Teacher Education" in the year 1998 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, with this, the college has an additional academic responsibility of providing in-service teacher development programmes covering all the secondary schools of Bangalore Rural and Tumkur districts of the Karnataka State apart from teacher development programmes of regular and distance mode.

The college has been assessed and accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council with ‘A’ Grade in the year 2005. Re-Accreditation by NAAC in 2015 with CGPA 3.19 Grade "A"
