Principal's Message

Dear students, As the saying goes, ‘where there is a will, there is a way’. If you have strong will power and determination, you can find a way to achieve your goals, even it is very difficult. Most of the people who land up achieving their goals aren’t those who are more talented than others. What sets them apart from others is their will power to succeed and their persistence towards their goals, irrespective of how small and large their goals may be. Little do we realize that our will power can make us achieve things that we presume to be unachievable at the outset. Promises, assurances that were never kept, resolutions that were never fulfilled, goals which were never achieved; all these are due to a lack of will power. It all comes down to a battle of mind against your heart and ego. Every student should have an urge for knowledge and studies but not all have the determination to become knowledgeable. Yet, some are able to contain their feelings and incline towards studies while others find excuses that could justify their actions. What separates these pupils from others is their will power. Therefore, gaining will power is a matter of personal efforts. Define quantifiable goals: Your mind and body crave for specific goals. ‘I would secure 90% marks’ is much more than ‘I will do well in studies.’ Quantifiable goals lead your mind to break goals into smaller parts encouraging you to be on track. The quantifiable goals also help you keep track of your progress and exhibit that you are on the right way. Achieve your aim for yourself and no one else: While setting goals, remember that it is for you and no one else. Make a commitment to yourself since you are answerable to yourself. You are accountable to and for yourself. Strengthen your will power: Long term goals are the hardest to achieve. Studying for 8 hours today is much easier than studying 6 hours every day for the entire month. Saying ‘no’ is a tough task. Saying ‘no’ to use mobile or saying ‘no’ to your favourite chats takes lot more guts than it seems. Remember, the hardest ‘no’ is always the first one. The satisfaction of conquering short-term desires with an eye on the long term goal goes a long way in strengthening your will power. Setting up realistic goals: The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. Whatever, your goal is try to break it down into smaller, easier goals which are easily achievable. Before you know it, you will be within the close proximity of your goal. Don’t think to complete entire syllabus, make a plan for the next few chapters. Making realistic goals ensures that you have no excuse to give up midway. Setting up unrealistic goals not only discourages you to work towards them but also deters your persistence. The human mind is capable of performing determined tasks if it is pushed to the core. Many people who have achieved their goals in their respective field, like Hima Das, who hails from Dhing village in Assam’s Nagon district won gold medal in women’s 4X400 meter relay race. She is the youngest and promising runner that India has discovered. This task has been achieved by Hima Das riding on strong determination and will power. You are no different than any of the many people who have achieved it. There is only one way to find out what you are truly capable of – use your will power and win the battle of the mind. All the best Principal -

With best wishes
